Do you remember the day we drove to the north? The deciduous trees transformed the evergreen groves with speckles of reds and yellows, a blaze of color to the dense foliage of green. The road wound through the hills like that of a snake moving from her nest to a sun-heated rock to rest for the afternoon.
Do you remember the day we walked through the town? The warm autumn sun danced with the cool breeze of the waterfront as we strolled the boardwalk. Light from the clear sky glistened against the tide that gently sloshed onto the rocky beach while little jellyfish wandered lost in the harbor’s depths.
Do you remember the day we sat at that little cafe? We drank our chai as we had many times before in many other venues, though this time was different. The smell of dried seaweed filled our lungs as we breathed in deeply, exhaling into our seat, eyes closed, and we found a moment of peace from the cluster of sounds about us.
